Best Phones with an in-display fingerprint reader so far

While Apple is getting rid of fingerprint readers on their phone, other companies still prefer this type of biometric sensor. However they would like to make it more and more comfortable to use, and by implanting it to the screen is a really good method.

1. Vivo Nex

Vivo was the first company came that came out with this type of biometric sensor. The phone from the front is pretty much a screen, there are no notch, camera or sensors on the front. However the way they solved the selfie camera is so impressive. A little electric engine push the camera out on the top when it’s needed, and pull it back when finished using it. It got a flagship hardware (specs below) with top range performance and a big battery. Display – 6.59-inch 19:9 ratio, Full HD+ AMOLED (Looks pretty good)Chipset – Snapdragon 845 (Best in the Android ring so far)Ram – 8GB LPDDR4x Storage – 128GBRear camera –

  • 12 MP, f/1.8, 1/2.55″, 1.4µm, 4-axis OIS, dual pixel PDAF
  • 5 MP, f/2.4, depth sensor

Front camera – 8MPBattery – 4000mAh

2. Huawei Mate RS

Huawei latest flagship is the Mate 20 Pro with triple camera system, however at the same time they came out with a premium Porche designed version called Mate RS. It has a lot in common with the P20 Pro (P20 Pro review here), like the AMOLED Display, battery, camera system and the Hardware is pretty much also the same. The phone itself looks really premium and just cool. Display – 6” HUAWEI FullView Display with 18:9 OLED panel and 538ppi (P20 Pro 408)Chipset – Kirin 970Ram – 6GBStorage – 128GBRear camera –

  • 40 MP, f/1.8, 27mm (wide), 1/1.7″, OIS, PDAF/Laser AF
  • 20 MP B/W, f/1.6, 27mm (wide), 1/2.7″, OIS, PDAF/Laser AF
  • 8 MP, f/2.4, 80mm (telephoto), 1/4″, 3x optical zoom, OIS, PDAF/Laser AF

Front Camera – 24 MP, AF, f/2.0Battery – 4000mAh

3. Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition

Well, this is our favourite phone with an in-screen fingerprint reader. It has the same specs as the Mi 8 Pro, but has a transparent back (it’s transparent but what you see is a sticker, but it’s still looks cool). There is a notch on the front and flagship hardware under the hood, however it has infrared face recognising unlike the Mi 8 Pro. Rear camera has AI support and promises colorful and sharp pictures with tons of details. Display – 6.21” Super AMOLED with 402 ppi densityChipset – Qualcomm SDM845 Snapdragon 845Ram – 8GB (Mi 8 Pro comes with 6/8)Storage – 128GBRear camera –

  • 12 MP, f/1.8, 1/2.55″, 1.4µm, 4-axis OIS, dual pixel PDAF
  • 12 MP, f/2.4, 1/3.4″, 1.0µm, AF, 2x optical zoom

Front camera – 20 MP, f/2.0, 0.9µmBattery – 3000 mAh

Sum up

So these are the highest Specs phones with an in-screen fingerprint reader, but there are more like Vivo’s V11Pro and Oppo Find X and R17. We are waiting for the Mate 20 Pro which also promises this feature, as well as the Galaxy S10.
