Last year Samsung made a revolutionary step in smartphone photography with it’s variable aperture camera and know it did again, but within more area. On the 20th of february in 2019, Samsung unpacked 3 Galaxy S10 models which are the S10e, S10 and S10+. Now we are going to talk about the last two.
Well, the design hasn’t changed a lot compared to the Note 9, only the the bezels are much smaller on the top and bottom, and the selfie camera (cameras) are now integrated into the screen. The fingerprint reader is now integrated into the display (talk about it later), and the back is glass.
The screen is a 6.4” (6.1” for S10) Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED Infinity Display (so long name), which is brighter than the previous ones. Now supports HDR10+ colour grading, and reduces blue harmful blue light.
Battery life is increased, thanks to the new processor and the bigger 4100mAh battery (3400mAh for S10). Wireless charging is now capable of charging other wireless gadgets/phones just like the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. Up to 12GB (at least 8) of RAM is available on the S10+ (RAM is never enough), and onboard storage is now up to 1TB!!!! Insane for a smartphone!
The processor is now the brand new Snapdragon 855, which is a 7nm chipset thats deliver around 25% more CPU power and 30% GPU power. The new Samsung Galaxy S10 supposed to deliver three-dimensional audio through it’s AKG speakers (stereo of course).
Samsungs flagship also has the world’s 1st ultrasonic fingerprint reader which is much more safer than the optical ones on other devices. IP68 is here again of course, so you don’t have to worry about dust and water at all (within limits).
Samsung also updated it’s Knox security system, so your datas are safe.
First of all, the differences in terms of cameras within the two phones, are just on the front. The Samsung Galaxy S10+ has a 8MP Depth Camera next to the selfie one which the S10 misses.
On the back
- 16MP Ultra Wide Camera (great for panoramas, group photos and for more details)
- 12MP Wide-angle Camera with the same variable aperture as last years
- 12MP Telephoto Camera (2x optical zoom)
- 10MP Selfie Camera
- 8MP RGB Depth Camera
We have seen the main camera’s performance last year (one of the best smartphone camera), but now with the new Ultra-wide lens and with the new processor (means faster AI), we are curious what the new S10+ capable of.
Samsung show us the feature of android phones, with unpairable performance and with an amazing display. AI has improved a lot as well, smart battery savings and a lot more. We are waiting for the tests, but at first the Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10+ are very, very promising.
